On 6 July 2026, Global Transit Trading launched coastal clean-up at Lazarus Island, Singapore, in collaboration with Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and SG Beach Warriors, bringing together corporate and community participants to remove marine litter and protect Singapore’s coastal environment.
The initiative brought together 24 registered participants, including representatives from Global Transit Trading, the Singapore Environment Council (SEC), and Singapore Beach Warriors, alongside one member of the public. Demonstrating the company’s collaborative global culture, the initiative united colleagues from Singapore, Spain, Australia, India, and the Philippines, reinforcing Global Transit Trading’s commitment to sustainability across its international offices. Conducted during low tide, the clean-up provided ideal conditions for removing marine debris accumulated along the shoreline, contributing to the protection of Singapore’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
The initiative resulted in the successful removal of 234 kilograms of waste, including 174 kilograms of marine debris and the retrieval of an abandoned 60-kilogram outboard motor from the rocky shoreline. In total, 40 bags of marine litter were collected, comprising approximately 300 plastic containers, 250 plastic straws, 100 cigarette-related items, 12 pieces of discarded footwear, six metal items, four glass bottles, and two electronic waste items. Additional debris recovered included fishing nets and lines, ropes, plastic bags and wrappers, Styrofoam, face masks, diapers, single-use plastic cutlery, container lids, fabric, wooden planks, toys, a lifebuoy, and other waste commonly found along Singapore’s coastal environment.
